There are many deaths among the Indian children at Standing Rock, from measles and kindred complaints. Once Indian mother, who had been east to school and was supposed to be quite intelligent, stripped her child naked and gave it a bath in the Cannon Ball to cool of the high fever incidental to measles; the child was in the happy hunting grounds the next day.
