Elm Tree Square, a small indoor mall created at the departure of Black's Department Store in the 1970s. Elm Tree Square's gimmick is an interior design resembling a parisian street scene, with wraught-iron railings, a stone fountain, benches and streetlights, and cobblestone floors. For all its kitchiness, it's a rather nice place to shop and hang out, with places to sit, a lunch counter in the basement, and odd little shops to browse. Too bad many of the shops are hardly ever open, even on weekdays. There's always one or two places shuttered, but obviously in business, whenever we go through. The top floor of Elm Tree Square is the western terminus of the Fargo skyway system.
