Ben Patrusky was born in New York in 1935 and graduated from the City College of New York in February 1958 with a bachelor's degree in electrical engineering (B.E.E.). He majored in this field in order to obtain a thorough grounding in the physical sciences for a career in science writing. Upon graduation he became the news editor for Electronic Design magazine. Subsequently, Mr. Patrusky went into industrial public relations and advertising. In September 1960, he received a fellowship for the Advanced Science Writing Program at the Columbia University School of Journalism and he is currently a free-lance science writer.[1]
